First private French yacht designed by one of the most famous French naval architects, André MAURIC, the M/Y LA BOUFFONNE was built between in 1958 at the Chantier de l'Estérel in Cannes according to the draconian standards and constraints of the manufacture of ships of the French Navy.
Her first owner, Louis Fontaine, founder of the Ensign Prisunic, has decided to modify Yacht this Customs Interception Yacht for his private use; To do this, he asked some help to Mr Marc Du Plantier, friend of his wife Claude Charles Otto Zieseniss.
Entirely built in Mahogany wood and in various species of fruits wood (mainly cherry and pear) for its interior fittings, this classic cruiser has exceptional cruising qualities due to her exceptional hull line.
LA BOUFFONNE is equipped of two GM 6V71N 425Hp engines developping an appreciable speed (between 15 and 20 knots). At 15knots her fuel comsumption is of 100 liters / hour, 3 to 4 times lower than recent Yachts with the same size.
